Sun Peaks is British Columbia's Family-friendly resort nestled between three mountains. Woodhaven 18 is located in the Woodhaven complex at the East end of Sun Peaks.

Sun Peaks is easily accessible from Vancouver and Seattle by freeway; or fly in to nearby Kamloops and take the courtesy shuttle to Sun Peaks. Estimated driving times are:

  • 4 1/2 hours from Vancouver B.C.
  • 6 1/2 hours from Seattle, WA
  • 45 minutes from Kamloops B.C.

Reservation & Cancellation Policies

Cancellations Made by Guests All payments are non-refundable, except if booking can be replaced.
Delayed Arrivals No refunds.
Delivery of Instructions and Access Information Emailed when balance of payment is paid. Door code will be emailed to you approximately 5-7 days prior to your arrival. The code will be the last 4 digits of a phone you provided when you booked.
Guest Account Termination The Owner or their Contact reserve the right to request permanent Guest account inactivation from this web sites technical administrators in the event of one or more of the following Guest actions: intentional property policy violation causing material damage or fines, Guest misrepresentation and/or fraud, intentionally defacing or damaging public or private property, breaking laws and bylaws, theft, public indecency, harassment, causing bodily or emotional harm & disturbing the peace after repetitive warnings. Guests will be notified by email of account termination. Guests may choose to appeal their account termination. Guests may be given the chance to reconcile with the Owner as a condition of preserving or reversing their account status. Account termination prevents the Guest from booking this or any other property that uses the same web site

Ineligible Guests Reservation Reversal The Owner or their Contact reserves the right to cancel reservations made by, and refuse business to: Guests who do not meet the policies published in this property's Policies Table at the time of booking and past Guests known to have : intentionally violated rental property policies, damaged and/or defaced rental properties through intentionally destructive and/or negligent behavior, engaged in theft, broken local bylaws and laws, committed fraud or who misrepresented themselves, and Guests who have caused bodily or emotional harm to any third parties. Reservations may be cancelled up to a maximum of 48 hours from the time the ineligible Guest made the booking. Guests will be issued a refund by personal cheque. Reservation Changes Reservations may be changed in compliance with our cancellation policy. You may lengthen your reservation if availability permits. If you would like to shorten your reservation, please note that your deposit calculated on the orignial amount is non-refundable; if you have already paid the balance, then your balance is similarly non-refundable. If you have not paid the balance,then it will be adjusted to reflect your shortened reservation.

Guest Stay Policies

Check-In Time 4:00 pm. Check in anytime after 4pm
Check-Out Time 10:00 am. The cleaning team will enter the unit right at 10am on your departure day. You will be charged a $35 fee if our cleaners arrive and you are still in the suite.
Complaints Concerning Property Report all property complaints or obvious damage caused by previous Guests to us immediately, by phone and by email as they become evident. Serious problems should be reported with supporting photographs. We will make our best efforts to rectify problems within 24 hours of notification. Failure to notify us of property-related problems while in the property and as they become evident, will forfeit any rights or claims against us regarding property condition after your departure.
Excessive Cleaning Costs Will be passed on to you. All dishes must be loaded in the dishwasher (not left in the sink) and the dishwasher cycle started. Pots and pans should be cleaned and put away. Etc. A 25.00 fee will be charged if any dishes, pts, or pans are left unwashed.
Excessive Noise Immediate eviction for excessive noise. Woodhaven is a FAMILY development with STRICT noise ordinances.
Garbage Removal The Garbage Transfer Station is located at the western entrance to the resort on Industrial Way.
Housekeeping Cleaning is provided after your departure. This is a self-catered property and no cleaning or linen changeover is available during your stay.
Internet Availability & Usage Full Internet access permitted EXCEPT for Pornographic, Violent, and Sexual websites. Access to objectionable sites is blocked.
Liability Owners are not liable for loss or damage to persons or property.
Locking Door Doors MUST be locked at all times when you leave the Unit. Doors shrink and swell! Don't assume they are locked, double check the lock before you leave.
Maintenance Emergencies Sun Peaks Vacation Chalets 250-214-1900.
Maximum Sleeping Capacity 11. No more than TWO families and All guests MUST use beds or hide-a-bed; sleeping on couches or floors is NOT allowed.
Missing Items Guests MUST authorize a credit card charge for missing items as per stated damage deposit policies.
Noise Restrictions Woodhaven has STRICT noise ordinances.
Property Damage Results in loss of deposit plus addtional cost of repairs. Damage includes, but is not restricted to: noise complaints, common or private property damage, excessive cleaning charges, lost or broken or missing common or private property items,smoking inside the property, pets inside the property and all charges relating to security company or police involvement regarding property occupant's behavior while in the property or on common premises.
Rental Accommodation Zoning This property is zoned for nightly rentals.
Ski & Snowboard Gear Storage All Ski & Snowboard gear MUST be stored in the space provided within the unit's garage.
Terms of Eviction 2 complaints will result in eviction by security service.

Guarantees Policies

The unit was fine - we had ample bedrooms, and the living area size was reasonable (although not as large as it looked in the photos) Our main issue was the lack of air conditioning units - it was very warm when we were there and in the afternoon the dining/living area was very hot. We tried getting a cross breeze with patio and back doors opened, and this helped, but there was no screen door so the bugs came in (there were lots of them, especially in the back patio area). so at a minimum a screen door is needed on the back door. The back patio area is quite cramped - okay for 3 or 4 to sit around, but not much more. And in any case, the bugs made it difficult. The bedroom off the kitchen was really warm in the morning when the sun came up. The upstairs bedrooms with the fans were better, but still warm.

Having not been to Sun Peaks before in the non ski season, and especially being there in June, there was not a lot to do. Many of the shops, restaurants were closed, as was the gondola.

The kitchen was well supplied, and the dishwasher, washer dryer all worked fine. The TV in the living room is a bit high for viewing - but we weren't really into a lot of TV time. Nice having the games available.

I am sure the unit is more suitable in the winter, when the heat and the bugs are not an issue. So I might recommend in the winter, but not likely in the summer.

Had some problem receiving the check in instructions, but the manager was great at solving the IT issue and made sure I received the information. We left a little before the 10am checkout, so had to take our garbage down the hill with us - would prefer that the cost of dealing with the garbage is factored into the cost of the unit, so we wouldn't have had to deal with the hassle of traveling with large bags of garbage.

Hope this doesn't sound like a lot of whining - we did enjoy our stay, had good family time. But some room for improvements as noted. Thanks for asking for feedback.

Spacious, Practical, Bright, Clean

Excellent layout. Bright and spacious. The extra "living room" downstairs was perfect for the teens. Nice big dinner table. Comfortable living room with large leather sofas. Washrooms supplied with bars of soap and shampoo (not all places provide soap). Lots of room in garage to hang wet ski gear. Kitchen pots/pans lacking when cooking for 9 people. 2 more large pots, and a large frying pan desperately needed plus a teapot. Housekeeping needs to provide more than one dishcloth with 9 people staying for one week and please don't provide the dirty kitchen sponge from the last stay. For the cost we'd like a fresh one please. Easy fix to make this one of the best places we've stayed Sun Peaks.

Comfortable , cozy townhouse

We really liked the functional floor plan of this unit. We did find some things lacking that have always been provided in the past 10 years we've been vacationing in Sun Peaks. Things such as; aluminum foil, plastic wrap, food storage containers, a large frying pan & large baking pans that are essential when cooking for 10 people.

There are a few squeaky doors that need greasing & the ensuite shower curtain liner needs to be bleached. The garage floor was very dirty & resulted in grit getting tracked inside. With 9 of us skiing, it makes more sense to have the garage key pad working rather than entering through the front door, tracking in dirt.

We have stayed at Woodhaven many times & really enjoy the units.

Ski Week at Sun Peaks

Overall the unit was perfect for us. However upon arrival we found one single bed was broken with the broken frame stored in the garage and the mattress on the floor of the bedroom ( not quite "deluxe" accommodation.). Also the double/bunk bed was kind of wobbly with no roll bar. The gear change in the garage could use a bench or two (to serve 10 people) instead of the two plastic patio chairs. Other than the above items the unit was great.
